My passion and love of horses began at a very young age. Both my parents grew up on ranches and worked with horses their entire lives and passed on their knowledge and experience to me. My mom competed in barrel racing and rodeo and taught riding lessons and my dad competed in roping at rodeos. As well, I worked as a wrangler with a few guest ranches over the years giving riding lessons and leading many trail rides for novice riders who wanted to get a taste of the cowgirl/cowboy lifestyle. I've also been involved in many aspects of riding, including gymkhana (multiple horse events) and rodeo. I have also had some experience in jumping and dressage. I ride extensively on trails and currently compete in cattle sorting, gymkhana and barrel racing. I have many clients of all ages taking riding lessons on my lesson horse or on their own horse. Clients range from the novice rider wanting to learn about horses for the first time to experienced riders wanting some pointers to improve their riding skills. Novice riding lessons consist of learning the basics of caring for a horse; including brushing, tacking and untacking a lesson horse and how to ride in the arena and on the trail. Please email or phone to check on current availability for riding lesson openings. My horse training is a nice combination of groundwork, arena work and trail riding. I've trained and worked with a wide variety horses, all with their own distinct dispositions and personalities. At this time I'm only accepting broke horses that need refreshers on training or an exercise program to get back into shape. Please email or phone to check on current availability of openings for horse training. I feel with my many years of experience and understanding of horses and involvement in competition that I can enhance the relationship between many horse and rider combinations.
