Rates 

Training and Board

$725/month plus 5% GST

• 60-day training minimum for untrained horses or unbroke horses that are under 4 years old. Only accepting unbroke horses under the age of 4 years.
• Horses of any age that are already started or trained or just need conditioning or extra training can be trained on a monthly basis.
• Training includes groundwork/round pen work. Arena work and trail riding when the horse is ready during training. Horses are ridden five hours/week, twenty-hours/month minimum.
• Board includes hay, grain (if required), ½ acre paddock and daily grooming and care. I will also include free of charge the application of fly spray during warmer months and to put on and take off a fly mask, fly sheet or winter blanket depending on the season (all the items will be provided by the owner prior to training).
• Owners are required to send a saddle blanket and brush that will be used for their horse only and one bottle of fly spray for each month of training during warmer months. Horses are blanketed during winter months to save time during training; one waterproof winter blanket in good repair is required. These requirements are for the health and comfort of your horse during their stay.
• Included free of charge a one hour lesson with your horse during training to understand how your horse has been trained and how to work with your horse when you both go back home together.
• Save $5 off of the $40/hour rate plus 5% GST and pay only $35/hour plus 5% GST for weekly lessons during your horses training. These lessons could be in the round pen doing groundwork, in an arena (arena fees extra) or on the trail.

Private Riding or Horsemanship Lessons

• $35/hour plus 5% GST for a lesson at an appropriate location within 5 km of Horse Basics and Beyond located on Fox Mountain. Over 5 km will have a mileage charge of $1/km. If your choice is an arena, (arena costs are extra) and if it is at your house there has to be a safe riding area for lessons.

Private Riding or Horsemanship Lessons

With one of my lesson horses,

• $40/hour plus 5% GST for a lesson at Horse Basics and Beyond in the round pen, arena or on the trail depending on your level of experience. The lesson could also be at Williams Lake Trail Riders indoor arena depending on the weather, ($10 arena fee is extra).
• If a lesson is missed without notice a penalty fee of $40 extra will be charged extra on top of the following lesson.

Special packages available!

• Save $5 with Five one hour lessons for $195 plus 5% GST
• Save $10 with Ten one hour lessons for $390 plus 5% GST
• Save $20 with Twenty one hour lessons for $780 plus 5% GST

Riding your horse

• $40/hour plus 5% GST to ride your horse at an appropriate location within 5 km of Horse Basics and Beyond located on Fox Mountain. Over 5 km will have a mileage charge of $1/km. If your choice is an arena, (arena costs are extra) and if it is at your house there has to be a safe riding area.

Hauling

*These prices include my time, vehicle and trailer insurance, liability insurance, fuel, BCAA roadside assistance and a safe, reliable 1993 GMC Sierra 4x4 pickup and a 1990 Gortzen 3 horse stock trailer*

• Clients living 20 km or less from Horse Basics and Beyond will be charged a flat rate of $40 plus 5% GST and over 20 km will have a mileage charge of $2/km for hauling a horse one way.

Special Events

• Riding a horse at any equestrian event or sale is $40/hour plus 5% GST.
• For me to exclusively show or care for a horse prior to riding at an equestrian event or sale $40/hour plus 5% GST.
• Hauling is the same as mentioned above, a flat rate of $40 plus 5% GST for 20 km or less and $2/km for any mileage over 20 km. This is for one way only.
• If I sell a horse for a client, my fee will be 10% of the sale.
