Horse Training
$725.00/month plus 12% HST ($87.00) = $812.00
$362.50/ half month plus 12% HST ($43.50) = $406.00

- For the 2010 year, on a monthly basis I will only be taking in training horses that are broke and maybe just need a refresher, conditioning or more time put on them in the arena or on the trail.
- Training includes groundwork/round pen work, arena and trail riding according to the horses’ individual needs. Horses are ridden five hours/week, twenty hours/month minimum.
- Training includes the care of your horse on my premises. This includes hay, grain (if required), ½ acre paddock and daily grooming and care. I will also include free of charge the application of fly spray during warmer months and to put on and take off a fly mask, fly sheet or winter blanket depending on the season (all the items will be provided by the owner prior to training).
- Owners are required to send a saddle blanket and brush that will be used for their horse only and one bottle of fly spray for each month of training during warmer months. Horses are blanketed during winter months to save time during training; two waterproof winter blankets in good repair are required. These requirements are for the health and comfort of your horse during their stay.
- Included free of charge is a one hour lesson with your horse near the end of training to understand how your horse has been trained and how to work with your horse when you both go back home together.
Full Board
$250.00/month plus 12% HST ($30) = $280.00
Private Riding or Horsemanship Lessons
With your own horse:
- $35.00/hour plus 12% HST ($4.20) = $39.20
$17.50/half hour plus 12% HST ($2.10) = $19.60
$52.50/hour&half plus 12% HST ($6.30) = $58.80
for a lesson at an appropriate location within 5 km of Horse Basics and Beyond located on Fox Mountain. Over 5 km will have a mileage charge of $1/km. If your choice is an arena, (arena costs are extra) and if it is at your house there has to be a safe riding area for lessons.
With one of my lesson horses:
- $40.00/hour plus 12% HST ($4.80) = $44.80
$20.00/half hour plus 12% HST ($2.40) = $22.40
$60.00/hour&half plus 12% HST ($7.20) = $67.20
$80.00/two hours plus 12% HST ($9.60) = $89.60
for a lesson at Horse Basics and Beyond in the round pen, arena or on the trail depending on your level of experience. The lesson could also be at Williams Lake Trail Riders indoor arena depending on the weather, ($10 arena fee is extra).
- If a lesson is missed without notice a penalty fee of $42 extra will be charged extra on top of the following lesson.

Riding your horse

Local Hauling
These prices include my time, vehicle and trailer insurance, liability insurance, fuel, BCAA roadside assistance and a safe, reliable 1993 GMC Sierra 4x4 pickup and a 1990 Gortzen 3 horse stock trailer.
- Clients living 20 km or less from Horse Basics and Beyond will be charged a flat rate of $40 plus taxes and over 20 km will have a mileage charge of $2/km for hauling a horse one way.
